Longer-dated US Treasury yields rose after stronger-than-expected durable goods data reinforced inflation worries and rate-hike expectations. The 30-year yield hit 5.5319%, its highest since 2004, while the 10-year reached 5.2297%, highest since 2007.
The dollar fell as crude prices eased, while the yen strengthened after Japan and the U.S. reaffirmed concern over yen weakness. Sterling rose on hawkish BoE remarks and the euro was set for a third weekly loss.
The 30-year yield hit a fresh 22-year high, while traders raised odds of another Fed hike in October.
