The dollar index rose 0.08% to 101.451 at the New York close on Sept. 30. EUR/USD fell to 1.1332 from 1.1341, while USD/JPY climbed to 157.34 from 157.22.
Major Asian, US and European stock indexes were lower, while bonds and the dollar were mixed. The report also showed Brent crude higher and gold at a more than seven-week low.
Major stock indexes fell, with the MSCI world gauge down 0.83%, as oil prices resumed their rise and Treasury yields extended gains. Spot gold dropped 3.5% to a more than seven-week low.
Regional markets were mixed, with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 1.30% and the benchmark US 10-year Treasury yield last at 5.165%. Spot gold was up 0.1% at $4,282.98 an ounce.
