US job openings little changed in July; openings hold at 4.4%
US job openings were stable in July at a 4.4% rate. Hires and total separations held at 5.1m; quits were 3.1m and layoffs/discharges 1.7m. Durable goods manufacturing added 76,000 vacancies.
