US S&P Manufacturing PMI Final September Report
U.S. stocks look set to open on a mixed note on Thursday, with futures of the Dow Jones and S&P 500 indices falling, while the Nasdaq 100 futures rose, following Wednesday’s mixed close. August PCE inflation rose 0.3% month-on-month and 3.4% year-on-year, below expectations. Core PCE rose 0.2% monthly and 3.3% annually, also cooler than predicted. Second-quarter GDP was revised up to a 2.2% annualized rate, while September private sector jobs added by ADP surged to 90,000, exceeding forecasts.
Spot gold was little changed at $4,178.59/oz by 0037 GMT and down nearly 6% in September. US PCE price index is due at 1230 GMT and nonfarm payrolls on Friday.
