US 'very much' understands Taiwan's defence needs, Taipei official says
Taiwan's deputy foreign minister said Washington understands Taipei's defence needs and the threat from China. He cited no change in US policy toward Taiwan and said Taiwan has repeatedly received confirmation from US officials.
