US factory orders rise 0.9% in July, above 0.6% forecast
New orders for U.S. factory goods increased more than expected in July amid a rebound in aircraft demand. Factory orders rose 0.9% after a revised 0.2% June drop; Reuters economists expected a 0.6% rebound.

The New York Fed’s Empire State manufacturing index rose to 20.6 in August from 15.6 in July, above the 10.0 consensus estimate, while new orders, shipments and employment remained positive.
