TAIEX jumps 1.9% toward record high on tech and chip optimism
TAIEX rose 863 points, or 1.9%, to 47,414 in Monday morning trading, extending gains and moving near its June 22 record high. Electronic technology led with a 2.4% rise; TSMC added 1.5%.
