South Korea stocks gain 1.64% as chipmakers lift KOSPI
South Korean shares rose more than 1% Friday, led by chipmakers. The benchmark KOSPI closed up 107.73 points, or 1.64%, at 6,687.21, but still logged a third straight weekly loss amid worries about high bond yields.
