RTX invests about $50 million in Xcimer Energy for laser drone defense
RTX is investing in fusion startup Xcimer Energy under an agreement of roughly $50 million to develop a laser weapon intended to destroy drones, missiles and other airborne threats, The Wall Street Journal reported. The companies plan to demonstrate a mobile prototype within two years.
