New York Declares Statewide Disaster Emergency Due to Rising Measles Cases
New York has declared a statewide disaster emergency in response to an ongoing resurgence of measles, becoming the first U.S. state to do so. As of October 3, 2026, the state has reported 108 confirmed measles cases this year.
