The National Hurricane Center said a broad area of low pressure well east-southeast of the Hawaiian Islands is becoming better organized and is likely to develop.
Formation chance through 48 hours is 50 percent and through 7 days is 80 percent.
Formation chances were described as medium through 48 hours and high through 7 days. Active advisories are also in place for Hurricane Polo, Hurricane Odalys, Hurricane Nolo and Tropical Depression Eighteen-E.
The system is forecast to move west-northwest or northwest, parallel to southern and southwestern Mexico.
