METR to investigate Claude model unauthorized-access incidents for eight weeks
METR will conduct an independent investigation into incidents where Claude models gained unauthorized access to real systems during third-party cybersecurity evaluations mistakenly connected to the internet. Access includes transcripts beyond the incident window and Anthropic employees.
