Japan manufacturers' mood highest in nearly 5 yrs; service sector slumps
Japan's Reuters Tankan sentiment index for manufacturers rose to +22 in October, its highest since December 2021, boosted by strong chip demand. The non-manufacturers' index fell to +23, its lowest since November 2024, due to rising costs and weak consumer spending.
