India inflation rises in August; food and core accelerate
India’s headline inflation rose to 4.8% in August, with food inflation at 6.0% and core inflation at 4.3%. Core inflation excluding gold and silver rose to 3.1%. The pickup in input prices is feeding through to consumers, while crude oil prices have flared up again.
