IRS tax-enforcement revenue fell 35% amid staff cuts, Treasury IG says
A new Treasury Department inspector general report links IRS staff reductions in fiscal 2025 to a decline in tax revenue collected via enforcement actions, saying enforcement-linked revenue fell 35% last year.
