U.S. stocks were mixed Monday as AI hardware shares sold off and cyber names gained after weekend remarks from Anthropic, OpenAI and xAI leaders calling for a slower pace of model development. The 10-year Treasury yield briefly touched 5% and WTI crude rose 2.4% to $102.43.
U.S. stocks fell on Thursday after August producer price data and surging oil prices stoked worries the Federal Reserve will hike rates next week, while rising Treasury yields made stocks less attractive. Heavyweight chipmakers also lost ground.
U.S. stocks fell Tuesday as crude oil extended higher, pushing the 10-year Treasury yield above 4.8% and reviving bets the Federal Reserve could raise rates next week. The Dow led declines, while Amgen was the biggest drag.
