Hurricane Polo strengthens to Category 3 near Baja California Sur
The National Hurricane Center said Polo was near 20.7N 113.7W, about 285 miles west-southwest of Cabo San Lucas, with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph. Hurricane warnings and watches were in effect for parts of Baja California Sur and northwestern mainland Mexico.
