The U.S. National Hurricane Center said Polo is a Category 3 hurricane near the west coast of Baja California Sur, with landfall expected later this evening. Hurricane warnings are in effect and the storm is forecast to bring life-threatening winds, flooding and storm surge.
The National Hurricane Center said Hurricane Polo was located near 24.5N 113.5W and moving northeast at 10 mph. It warned of life-threatening winds, flooding and mudslides across Baja California Sur and southern Sonora.
