Goolsbee rejects Fed rate cuts to aid US debt financing
Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee said Monday that ideas for the Fed to lower borrowing costs to help the US government finance current debt and deficits are precisely why the Fed must remain independent in setting monetary policy.
