Spot gold gained 1.4% to $4,189.99 by 0842 GMT and was set for a weekly gain after a softer US dollar and cooling oil prices.
Spot gold was up 1.2% at $4,312.05/oz at 0848 GMT after the dollar softened and easing oil prices supported the move as traders reassessed the Fed’s latest rate hike and outlook for further tightening.
Gold climbs nearly 1% to above $4,650 an ounce, its highest since mid-May, as a subdued dollar lifts bullion and markets await US inflation data and Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh comments.
