GM and LG Energy to upgrade Tennessee Ultium Cells plant for LMR battery cells
GM and LG Energy said the Ultium Cells joint-venture plant will be upgraded later this year to make lithium manganese-rich (LMR) prismatic battery cells for future GM EVs, with construction expected to complete in 2028 and about 500 new jobs projected.
