Citigroup to accelerate 2026 spending and boost buybacks
Citigroup said it will accelerate about $500M of 2026 spending, boost buybacks beyond $13B done in 2025, remove Banamex next year (incurring about $9B CTA loss), and target ROTCE just above 11% alongside strong NII growth and disciplined organic cards and wealth expansion.
