Chevron (CVX) closed up more than 2% Tuesday and continued higher overnight on reports it is nearing a deal for two giant oil fields in Venezuela’s Orinoco Belt to expand operations.
Venezuela is reportedly discussing a possible exit from OPEC with U.S. officials, but no final decision has been reached, Bloomberg reported. Axios separately reported Trump administration talks with Caracas over stakes in a dozen oil fields.
