Cattle futures rise after record-low August feedlot placements
USDA reported August feedlot placements of 1.62 million head, the lowest on records back to 1996. The placements were 9% below the year-earlier month. Fed cattle marketings were 1.52 million head and were down on the year; cattle futures are higher.
