Rheinmetall, Capita Consortium Wins GBP2 Billion Contract for New UK Army Training System
The UK's Ministry of Defence awarded a 15-year, 2 billion-pound-sterling contract to the Omnia Training consortium to build a new digital training system for the British army. The new Combat Laboratory will be developed by the consortium, which is led by Raytheon UK and also includes arms maker Rheinmetall's (RHM.F) British arm, business process outsourcing company Capita (CPI.L), Cervus, and Skyral, the British government said Friday. The platform will use artificial intelligence, advanced analytics and virtual environments to simulate modern warfare and better support troops.
