Antech, a global leader in veterinary diagnostics, today announced the publication of a new study in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association (JAVMA), which concludes that its Accuplex™ test is a robust option for tick-borne pathogen screening in dogs. The study provides a direct performance comparison of Antech’s Accuplex test against the IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx® Plus test offered by IDEXX®. This research provides peer-reviewed data demonstrating that while both tests performed comparably for Anaplasma spp., Accuplex was significantly more sensitive for detecting canine antibodies to Ehrlichia spp. The study results demonstrated: Superior Sensitivity for Ehrlichia spp.: Accuplex identified 94% of Ehrlichia-positive samples as determined by the indirect fluorescent antibody (IFA) reference standard, while the SNAP® 4Dx® Plus test i

The study results demonstrated: Superior Sensitivity for Ehrlichia spp.: Accuplex identified 94% of Ehrlichia-positive samples as determined by the indirect fluorescent antibody (IFA) reference standard, while the SNAP® 4Dx® Plus test identified 58% (P 90%) for detecting exposure to Anaplasma species.(1) High Specificity: Both tests demonstrated excellent specificity (>95%), minimizing the risk of false positives.(1) “Tick-borne disease isn't standing still, so our diagnostics can't either,” said Jimmy Barr, DVM, DACVECC, Chief Medical Officer, Antech.

“As pathogens evolve and their geographic reach changes, veterinarians need confidence that their screening tools are keeping pace. This peer-reviewed research demonstrates the strength of Accuplex™ and provides important scientific evidence to help veterinarians make informed decisions about the diagnostic tests they use.” This research supports Accuplex as a trusted, reliable option for routine vector-borne disease screening. By demonstrating greater sensitivity for Ehrlichia spp. antibody detection in this study, Accuplex represents robust option for routine vector-borne disease screening for dogs.

About Accuplex™ Antech's Accuplex™ is a reference laboratory serologic screening test utilizing a proprietary silicon surface multiplex immunoassay (SSMIA) to provide veterinarians with a highly sensitive and specific tool for annual wellness screening.

It supports detection of seven key vector-borne disease indicators, screening for canine antibodies to three Ehrlichia species, two Anaplasma species, and Lyme, along with heartworm (Dirofilaria immitis) antigen. About Antech™ Antech, a Mars Science & Diagnostics company, is a global leader in veterinary diagnostics, driven by the belief that Better Petcare is in our DNA. Antech offers veterinarians a connected, comprehensive diagnostic ecosystem to help deliver improved animal health outcomes across a global network of reference laboratories, in-house diagnostics, Sound™ imaging equipment, imaging services, and software.
