Marvell shares fall 1.33% in premarket trading

Marvell Technology shares were down 1.33% at $203.74 in premarket trading Thursday as investors rotated away from elevated valuation technology stocks.

MRVL

Marvell Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: MRVL ) stock traded lower on Thursday, continuing its downward trajectory from earlier sessions.

The pullback came as market participants retreated from elevated valuation technology equities amid broad defensive positioning in growth stocks.

Marvell stock had surged 231% over the past 12 months.

That sharp advance left the equity sensitive to profit-taking when broader futures signaled defensive shifts across growth sectors.

Nasdaq futures are down 0.15% while S&P 500 futures have gained 0.03%.

Operating cash flow hit $605.5 million.

Data center revenue jumped 46% during the quarter, driven by sustained product demand.

For the third quarter, Marvell projects revenue of $3.15 billion, plus or minus 5%, above the $3.03 billion expectation.

28) Technical Analysis From a trend perspective, MRVL is still in a longer-term uptrend, but the near-to-intermediate picture is softer: the stock is trading 9.1% below its 20-day SMA and 8.6% below its 50-day SMA, which often acts like a "gravity zone" during pullbacks.

It’s also 4.6% below the 100-day SMA, while remaining 35.6% above the 200-day SMA—so the long trend is intact, but the stock is trying to stabilize after losing altitude.

Key longer-term context still leans constructive: the 50-day SMA remains above the 200-day SMA (a golden cross that occurred in October 2025), which typically supports "buy-the-dip" behavior as long as major supports hold.

But traders will also remember the stock’s recent swing high in June and swing low in July, which frames the current action as a digestion phase after a sharp run.
