USD/RSD Surges on Softer Serbia Inflation Figures

The Serbian dinar weakened against the US dollar on Monday after consumer prices in Serbia softened 0.2% on a monthly basis in June, compared with 0.3% in May. On a yearly basis, the inflation rate in Serbia dropped to 2.7% in the same month from 3.5%. The next mild event for the Serbian dinar will be the Building Permits for May, due on Wednesday. For the USD, the major events will be the inflation data for June and testimony of Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh, also due on Tuesday. At the time of writing, the USD/RSD pair was trading at 102.569, with a gain of 0.33% during American trading hours on Monday.
