Aeon (TYO:8267) posted a profit attributable to owners of the parent of 13.8 billion yen for the fiscal first quarter, against a loss of 6.57 billion yen a year earlier. The retailer's basic earnings per share came in at 4.99 yen, versus a loss per share of 2.54 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing Friday. Operating revenue jumped 15% to 2.942 trillion yen for the three months ended May 31 from 2.567 trillion yen in the prior-year period. For the fiscal year ending Feb. 28, 2027, the company expects an attributable profit of 73.0 billion yen, basic EPS of 26.39 yen, and operating revenue of 12 trillion yen. AEON plans to pay interim and year-end dividends of 7.50 yen per share each for the current fiscal year.
