Osaka Organic Chemical Industry's (TYO:4187) profit attributable to owners of the parent jumped 45% to 3.09 billion yen for the fiscal first half from 2.13 billion yen a year earlier. The chemical industry company's basic earnings per share increased to 151.76 yen from 103.71 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Thursday. Net sales jumped 15% to over 20 billion yen for the six months ended May 31 from 17.4 billion yen in the prior-year period. For the fiscal year ending Nov. 30, the company expects attributable profit of 5.2 billion yen, bacis EPS of 255.50 yen and net sales of 39 billion yen. The company plans to pay a year-end dividend of 43 yen per share for the year, which is higher than the amount paid in the year-ago period.
