Paramount, Warner Bros. Discovery Merger Possibly Faces Lawsuits From US States to Block Deal
Paramount's (PSKY) $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) could be faced with lawsuits from US states suing to block the deal as soon as next week, California Attorney General Rob Bonta has taken the lead in investigating the deal, the news agency reported Wednesday. If the deal is delayed because of a court challenge, costs could mount for Paramount. A spokesperson for Bonta's office declined to comment, Bonta's office and Paramount did not immediately respond to an out-of-office-hours-request for comment.
