Venture Global Posts Higher Liquefaction Fees as LNG Prices Surge

US liquefied natural gas producer Venture Global (VG) on Wednesday posted higher implied fixed liquefaction fees of $6.45 per million British thermal units in Q2, up from $3.82/MMBtu in Q1, in line with the surge in global LNG prices. During the period, the company sold 466.4 trillion Btu of LNG, down compared with Q1's 480.8 TBtu. Of the total volume, 137.5 TBtu of LNG came from the Calcasieu Pass facility and 328.9 TBtu from the Plaquemines facility. The implied weighted average fixed liquefaction fee and the volume of LNG sold represent a "few measures" of the company's operating performance, according to the filing. US LNG exporters are expected to generate windfall profits after global energy prices surged following the onset of the US-Iran war in late February.
