European Natural Gas Prices Steady

European natural gas prices stabilized above €92/MWh on Wednesday after two straight days of declines, as the market weighed diplomatic efforts to end the Middle East conflict against concerns that continued attacks could further disrupt energy supplies. Qatar continues its mediation efforts to ease tensions between the US and Iran, with both sides reportedly reviewing fresh proposals to resolve their differences. The talks come amid continued Iranian strikes on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, while the US conducted limited defensive strikes on Iranian targets. Still, supply concerns persisted amid rising heating demand and Europe's storage levels remaining below seasonal targets. Germany’s storage facilities were around 61% full, below the government’s 70% target, while EU-wide reserves remained below 75%, the lowest level recorded for this time of year. With temperatures across Northwest Europe expected to fall further this week, heating demand is likely to increase.
