ADB Keeps Malaysia's Growth Forecast Unchanged for 2026

The Asian Development Bank kept its economic growth estimate for Malaysia unchanged for 2026, but lifted its inflation forecast. In its Asian ​Development Outlook update published late Wednesday, the ADB expects the country's economy to grow 4.6% in 2026, sticking to its April estimate. For 2027, the real GDP growth estimate was also unchanged at 4.5%. The ADB expects inflation in Malaysia to rise to 2.0% in 2026 from 1.4% in 2025, higher than the 1.8% April projection.

ADB Cuts Developing APAC Growth Forecast for 2026

The Asian Development Bank trimmed its developing Asia and the Pacific economic growth estimate for 2026, below last year's growth due to the effects of the Middle East conflict.

In its Asian ​Development Outlook update published late Wednesday, the ADB expects the region's economy to grow 4.9% in 2026, down 0.2 percentage points from the April estimate.

For 2027, the real GDP growth estimate was unchanged at 5.1%.

The ADB expects inflation in the developing APAC region to rise to 4.3% in 2026 from 3% in 2025, higher than the 3.6% April projection.
