Trump Warns of Additional Strikes on Iran Wednesday Night

US President Donald Trump warned of further US strikes on Iran on Wednesday night, according to media reports. Addressing reporters at the NATO summit in Turkey before his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Trump said the US was going to hit Iran hard on Wednesday night. Earlier in the day, Trump said the Pakistan-mediated interim memorandum of understanding with Iran was "over" and called it "a waste of time." Trump initially said the US would "probably hit them hard again tonight". In the next sentence, his wording was firmer, declaring that "I gave them a little warning, we're gonna hit them hard again tonight," according to his remarks reported by the BBC. On Tuesday, the US Central Command launched a massive wave of airstrikes across Iran after three commercial oil tankers were targeted and struck by projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz. The US has also restored temporarily-suspended sanctions on Iranian oil exports. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps reportedly struck US military facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait with drones and missiles in retaliation.
