DAX Down on Tuesday

Frankfurt's DAX 40 fell nearly 1% to around 24,700 on Tuesday, as optimism at the start of the week gave way to renewed caution. Investors grappled with mounting concerns over AI, mixed corporate earnings and the looming US midterm elections. Geopolitical tensions added another layer of pressure, with reports of a US strike on Iran's Qeshm Island driving oil prices higher and reinforcing fears of further escalation. Most sectors traded lower, led by tech, software, retailers and industrials. Zalando led losses among individual stocks, slipping over 5%, as weaker gross margin and net loss overshadowed slightly better-than-expected sales.
