Safran announced its selection for three French nuclear deterrence programs, involving the supply of its Hemispherical Resonating Gyroscope (HRG) technology. The sensors will be integrated into the French nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine, the M51 missile, and the Rafale combat aircraft. The company describes the HRG as a high-precision inertial sensor. This selection follows a previously announced 120 million euro investment to modernize its Montluçon site, which aims to triple the production capacity of these gyroscopes by 2032.
