European cash markets finished mixed: the Euro Stoxx 50 closed down 1.22 percent, the DAX closed down 0.85 percent, the CAC 40 closed down 0.01 percent and the FTSE 100 closed up 0.07 percent. UK volume leaders were Lloyds Banking Group down 5.23 percent, HSBC down 1.21 percent, BP up 0.5 percent, Barclays down 3.95 percent and AstraZeneca up 6.96 percent. continental European volume leaders were UBS down 1.18 percent, Nestle up 2.28 percent, Deutsche Telekom up 1.83 percent, Sanofi up 4.71 percent and Novartis up 1.12 percent.
