India, Indonesia Likely to Sign Defense, Other Deals During PM Modi's Visit
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto are expected to sign defense and other deals at their meeting on Tuesday, according to media reports quoting Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono on Monday. The two leaders are likely to sign seven to eight agreements in total across education, health and technology during Modi's three-day visit to Indonesia. Among other deals, under the defense sector India is expected supply the BrahMos cruise missile system and the Astra air-to-air missile to Indonesia. According to medis reports, India's Ambassador to Indonesia, Sandeep Chakravorty, had said the two countries are in "very advanced " talks on the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile system.
