Top Midday Stories: Solstice to Acquire Element Solutions for About $14.5 Billion; Anthropic Enters 20-Year Lease Agreement for TeraWulf Dat

The Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 Index were up in late-morning trading Monday, as tech stocks rose broadly to kick off the new trading week. In company news, Solstice Advanced Materials (SOLS) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Element Solutions (ESI) in a cash-and-stock deal valued at about $14.5 billion, including the assumption of net debt, the companies said Monday. Under the terms of the deal, Element shareholders will receive $10 in cash and 0.500 shares of Solstice common stock for each share of Element they own, representing a premium of about 15% over Element's closing share price of July 2, according to a statement. The deal is expected to close in H1 2027, with Element shareholders expected to own about 44% of the combined company, the companies said. Solstice and Element shares were down 13.6% and 2.1% respectively around midday. TeraWulf (WULF) said Monday it has entered into a 20-year lease agreement with Anthropic for the AI company to use its Justified Data campus in Hawesville, Kentucky. The lease is expected to generate about $19 billion of contracted revenue over the initial lease term, TeraWulf said. TeraWulf shares were up 11%. Broadcom.

The lease is expected to generate about $19 billion of contracted revenue over the initial lease term, TeraWulf said.

TeraWulf shares were up 11%.
