Sector Update: Financial Stocks Lean Lower Pre-Bell Monday
Financial stocks were leaning lower pre-bell Monday, with the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) declining by 0.3%. The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was down 1% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 1% higher. ING (ING) has agreed to acquire an approximately 40% stake in Spanish wealth manager Singular Bank from Warburg Pincus, the company said. Shares of ING were up more than 1% premarket. Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group's (MUFG) banking unit, MUFG Bank, and JCB said they signed a memorandum of understanding to form a strategic partnership in the ASEAN region. Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group shares were 0.7% higher premarket. Citigroup (C) and London Precious Metals Clearing said Citi has been admitted as an LPMCL clearing member, enabling it to offer Loco London settlement services for gold, silver, platinum, and palladium. Citigroup stock was 0.1% higher pre-bell.
