Healthcare stocks were mixed premarket Monday, with the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) 0.4% lower and the iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) up 0.3%. Novartis (NVS) stock was down more than 1% after the company said it agreed to acquire privately held Myricx Bio for $1.1 billion upfront, with up to $400 million in milestone payments. Pharvaris (PHVS) shares were up more than 3% after the company said its new drug application for deucrictibant 20 mg immediate-release capsule for the on-demand treatment of hereditary angioedema attacks has been accepted by the US Food and Drug Administration. Opus Genetics (IRD) has reached alignment with the US Food and Drug Administration on the design of its registrational phase 3 clinical trial evaluating OPGx-LCA5 for LCA5-associated inherited retinal disease, the drugmaker said.
