Sector Update: Tech Stocks Rise Premarket Monday
Technology stocks were rising premarket Monday, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) up 1.6% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) 2.4% higher. Broadcom (AVGO) stock was up more than 4% after the company said in a regulatory filing that it has entered into new multi-year agreements with Apple (AAPL) to develop and supply it with a range of custom application-specific integrated circuit silicon products for use in multiple generations of its products. United Microelectronics (UMC) shares were up more than 4% after the company reported sales of 23.12 billion New Taiwan dollars ($721.4 million), up 23% from a year earlier. Ceva (CEVA) signed an artificial intelligence licensing agreement with a major US software and AI platform company for a custom AI silicon program targeting next-generation intelligent computing devices, the company said.
