Ecowende Delivers 1st Power From 760-MW Wind Farm in Netherlands

Ecowende, a joint venture between Shell (SHEL), Chubu Electric Power, and Eneco, Monday said its 760-megawatt Hollandse Kust West offshore wind farm in the Netherlands has started producing power and is now connected to TenneT's offshore grid. The wind farm consists of 52 wind turbines, each with a power output of 15 MW, the company said. It is situated 53 kilometers (32.9 miles) off the Dutch coast in the North Sea. The company targets fully commissioning the facility by the end of this year, at which point production will reach 3.3 terawatt-hours per year. European transmission system operator TenneT is the developer of the offshore power grid that connects Ecowende's wind farm to the Dutch onshore grid.
