China Proposes Amendments to E-Commerce Law

The Chinese government proposed amendments to its e-commerce law for consultation to add more responsibilities for platform operators and amend fines, the State Administration for Market Regulation said Saturday. China also proposed other changes, such as enhanced oversight of online and offline business operations, expanded legal regulation, curbing illegal activities, and deepening international e-commerce open cooperation.
