Train Maker Stadler Rail Opens Expanded US Plant
Stadler Rail (SRAIL.SW) unveiled a 245,000-square-foot expansion of its manufacturing plant in Salt Lake City in the US state of Utah. Opened on July 1, the expansion increased the facility's total manufacturing area to 475,000 square feet, according to a July 3 release. It paved the way for the addition of a new welding hall, blasting booth, assembly hall, warehouse expansion, and electrical pre-assembly hall to the plant. The Swiss train manufacturer said the expansion increased its production capacity in North America. The move is also expected to create up to 300 new jobs in the city.
