Thailand's Headline Inflation Eases to 2.42% in June; Core Inflation Hits Six-Year High

Thailand's consumer price index rose 2.42% in June from a year earlier, easing from a 2.79% increase in May, the country's Trade Policy and Strategy Office said Monday The reading came in below analysts' expectations for a 4% increase, according to Trading Economics data. Core inflation, which excludes volatile energy and fresh food prices, rose 1.23% in June from a year earlier, faster than the 0.92% increase in May and against analysts' 1.0% consensus forecast. It marked the highest print since June 2023.
