Edgewing Secures GBP4.6 Billion Fighter Jet Contract

Edgewing secured an 18-month contract worth 4.6 billion pounds sterling from the GCAP Agency to further the Global Combat Air Programme. The joint venture will use the funding from Italy, the UK, and Japan to complete the concept and assessment phase of the jet program, while also advancing the program into its design and development phase, according to a July 3 release. Edgewing is a joint venture between BAE Systems (BA.L), Leonardo SpA (LDO.MI), and Japan Aircraft Industrial Enhancement.
