Crédit Agricole Boosts Banco BPM Stake to 29.3%

Crédit Agricole (ACA.PA) increased its stake in Banco BPM (BAMI.MI) to 29.3% via share market purchases and a derivative instrument. The French lender said on July 3 that the transaction is set to boost its financial partnerships and Italian market footprint. The lender also expects the move to negatively impact its CET1 ratio by 35 basis points as of the second quarter of 2026.
