Jim Clyburn. He’s heading to Michigan this weekend to rally Democrats in support of Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, according to his political adviser Antjuan Seawright. Michigan Democrats are trying to project unity and turn out Black voters ahead of Election Day amid concerns among some party members that Republican Senate nominee Mike Rogers could erode the party’s edge among Black voters. Clyburn had backed Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Mich., in the contentious Senate primary and campaigned with her in its final days. More recently, the race has been rocked by the decision by Stevens’ fiancé to vote for Rogers, in part due to Democratic divides on Israel. Stevens is still maintaining her somewhat lukewarm support for El-Sayed. Clyburn is also campaigning in Mississippi on Thursday and is traveling to Minnesota on Friday, according to Seawright.
